Frequently asked Questions
Q. When can I get the keys!
A. We recognise that you are probably excited about your new home and want to move in quickly, however it is likely to be a minimum of 7 days before we can do this as we are obliged to carry out checks on your status. Also we require the first payment for the rent and the security deposit in cash or bankers draft.
Q. Why do I have to pay an administration fee?
A. We charge a fee to cover the cost of producing the the tenancy documents and credit references. If your application is not successful then this fee is non refundable.
Q. Are there any restrictions on my tenancy?
A. Some landlords may not wish to let to you if you rely on any benefits to pay the rent, i.e. Housing Benefit or other allowances; also Pets or Smoking in the property may not be acceptable so please ask if you are not sure.
Q. Do I have to pay a bond or deposit?
A. Yes and normally this is at least one month’s rent payable in advance, although some landlords may require a larger deposit for whatever reason; IE the property may be new or furnished to a high standard
Q. What about insurance, am I covered by the Landlord’s policy?
A. Unfortunately you need to arrange your own insurance and if you need any help then we can advise you further.
Q. What about the utilities?
A. 2let2U will endeavour to notify the current supplier, i.e. gas, water and electric and council tax, although it is your responsibility to ensure that meter readings are correct and that bills are paid to the relevant supplier.
